Homes for Disabled Adults

The inclusion of housing options for disabled adults is an important part of the Maple Oak community. A home of one’s own is a cornerstone of independence for people with disabilities – being an integrated part of a neighborhood such as Maple Oaks and living as independently as possible are among the most important values and goals shared by people with disabilities, their families, and advocates. Housing for disabled adults often requires unique accessibility, management, and support features such as lowered kitchen counters and sinks, roll-under stoves, widened doorways, wheel-in showers, and raised electrical outlets. In addition, some disabled homeowners require frequent or 24/7 management and support services. Maple Oaks is pleased to offer three distinctive home styles that include many of our standard features plus design modifications made specifically for disabled adults who may require unique features.
